Mahir Awrahem graduated with a Master of Sciences degree in Computer Sciences from University of Detroit Mercy 2000, and Bachelor of Sciences degree in Mathematics from University of Mosul/Iraq 1990, and he studied Theology, Bible, Philosophy and Church History from Theology School in Mosul/Iraq 1990.

Mahir has many years of C++ programming, C#, Java, PHP, PERL, JavaScript, Visual Basic, MySQL and skills in JSP, Java Persistence API (JPA), Digital Manufacturing using CATIA, and DB2 database.

He designed the Aramaic Language Course for University of Detroit Mercy and author the textbook for this course. He is the instructor for this class since January 2009
